Snow Resorts
Snow Resort Nagano
Host of the 1998 Winter Olympic Games, Nagano Prefecture is home to some of the country's best ski resorts and plentiful powder snow. Every year from late December to the end of April, snow covers Nagano's mountains and forests and resorts open for business. International visitors flock to destinations such as the Hakuba Valley, Shiga Kogen, Nozawa Onsen and Myoko Kogen for their incredible mountain views, course variety (both on and off-piste) and ease of access. English-language lessons and support are a plus as well.
In addition to skiing and other winter activities that can be enjoyed on the mountain, Nagano offers historical and cultural sightseeing, from ancient temples and shrines to pristine castles and Edo period townscapes. Everyone needs to rest sometime, and just an hour away from the resorts are plenty of beautiful sights that can only be seen here.
