Opened on July 23rd, 2023, Komoro Distillery is one of Nagano's newest whisky distilleries.
Sitting below volcanic Mt. Asama, Komoro Distillery utilizes the area's mineral-infused waters to produce its whisky, which is then aged on premises in primarily mizunara oak casks as well as sherry, ex-bourbon and other casks procured from around the world. The distillery’s first batch of whiskies will be available in 2026.
Two plans are available for visitors to the distillery: the Komoro Experience or Komoro Academy plan. The Komoro Experience plan includes a distillery tour and a welcome drink at the bar, and the Komoro Academy plan includes a distillery tour and a whisky tasting course. Both plans include access to the bar and the reception center shop. See plan details below.
