Madarao Mountain Resort

On Nagano’s northern edge, right on the border with neighboring Niigata Prefecture, are the Madarao Highlands. The Resort's collection of 100 or so distinctive hotels and pensions, all around the 1000 meter elevation level, are spread out at the base of Madarao Mountain. Boasting a snow accumulation of 3 to 4 meters, Madarao prides itself on being able to please all skiers at its long-established resort.
