Suwa Taisha Shrine’s taiko drumming group, the nationally designated Important Intangible Cultural Property Osuwa Taiko, offers taiko lessons on the shore of Lake Suwa. Here you can experience taiko with Nagano’s largest lake as your backdrop; drumming in harmony with nature and feeling the vibrations reverberate in your body. Under the firm guidance of the instructor, guests quickly learn to play a simple taiko song. In the event of inclement weather, the lessons take place at a nearby indoor facility. (Japanese only)
