Hirugami Onsen
Update:2020/03/30
With its hot spring mineral water having only been discovered in 1973, Hirugami is one of Japan’s youngest onsen resort towns. It is located in tiny Achi Village (population 6,800) on the southern end of Nagano Prefecture, an area famous for flowering peach trees (blossoms in early April) and night sky viewing (tours operate from mid-April to mid-October). Hirugami’s onsen water is highly alkaline (9.6 pH), and will leave your skin feeling silky smooth. The resort town’s morning farmers market is popular with visitors shopping for locally grown produce.
