Zenkoji Temple's main image is the Amida Golden Triad. The image itself was declared a secret image. Once every six years (seven by traditional counting methods), a facsimile is unveiled for believers to worship. During the approximately two month-long event, a sacred pillar (“Eko-Bashira”) is erected in front of the main hall with a golden thread attached to the image, conveying the wishes and prayers of the worshipers. In addition to Morning and Evening Services, during the Gokaicho period the duplicate image is displayed in a special ceremony every morning.
